DESCRIPTION:The F/V First String was the pride of 22nd Street Landing as well as H&M Landing from 1984 to 2017 which gained a following unlike any other boat in the respective fleets. With her 93′ length, 26′ beam and bunks for 48 passengers, the First String established herself as one of the finest fishing platforms in Southern California.
A partnership purchased the vessel in 2018 with the intention of restoring her legacy as the finest short range boat in the fleet. Renovation work began immediately with the purpose of creating a more efficient and modern look to the boat. These efforts included:
-Removal of any wood in the bunk room area due to potential fire risk during the welding process.
-Began process of removing the dry stack exhaust and installation of wet exhaust.
-Began remodel of deck level restrooms.
Remodeling efforts were halted due to the retirement from the industry from partnership members.
Key points:
Both 2009 John Deere engines and Isuzu generators are in working order.
Fully loaded with electronics (sonar, fish finder, auto pilot and several radios).
All fish holds and refrigeration are in working order.
Galley is fully functional.
Due to micro pitting, a hull replacement is required to obtain a COI from the USCG.
Life rafts and life jackets are all in good order and ready to use.
This is a perfect opportunity for someone or a group to take on a project to rebuild the First String and her reputation in their own unique way. The sheer size, rail space, spacious galley, large bunk compartment and devoted passenger base makes this fishing platform one that will regain the reputation once completed as the queen of the short range fleet and will be for years to come.
Potential for other unlisted damage. Bidder responsible to verify condition prior to bid.
